Not Sure What To Expect?

We know pelvic health physical therapy can feel unfamiliar, or even a little intimidating, and that’s completely okay! At Just Breathe, we’re here to help guide you through the process to healing. Through years of practice and training, we developed a process we call the Three M’s of Your Pelvic Health Journey. Here’s what you can expect while getting treatment through us.

STEP ONE

Map It: Discover What’s Really Going On

Our bodies are complex, which is why we chose to map out a custom treatment plan, uniquely tailored to your specific needs. How we accomplish this is through a thorough initial exam. This often includes:

  • A comprehensive evaluation of your symptoms, goals, and lifestyle

  • A trauma-informed pelvic floor exam (when appropriate, with consent*)

  • Identifying problem areas (muscle and soft tissue tone imbalances, coordination issues, postural contributions, and nervous system involvement)

  • Discussing past experiences, stressors and emotional factors that may influence pelvic function

*At Just Breathe, the comfort and safety of our patients is our highest priority. We always obtain consent before any form of treatment is conducted, and we ensure that patients have a full understanding of what is being performed before proceeding.

STEP TWO

Manage It: Crafting A Personalized Plan

No one size fits all. Your healing journey should feel supportive, strategic, and empowering. Once we understand what areas are contributing and need to be addressed, we will collaborate on building a treatment plan, tailored just for you. Each plan will be different, but you may expect your plan to include:

  • Manual therapy, breath work, and nervous system considerations

  • Pelvic floor relaxation or strengthening, depending on your needs

  • Education on body mechanics, toileting strategies, nervous system regulation, and tools for management

  • Guided home programs exercises and tools for self-care between sessions

STEP THREE

Maintain It: Build Confidence & Long-Term Resilience

When it comes to your healing journey, our goal is for sustainable pelvic health wellness, not for short-term relief. To achieve this, we work on integrating your new tools and awareness into your everyday life. In this phase we focus on:

  • Tracking progress and adjusting as needed

  • Reinforcing habits that support pelvic and whole-body health

  • Teaching you how to recognize early signs of imbalance

  • Equipping you with a personalized maintenance plan you can continue with independently, or with periodic check-ins

Your pelvic health healing journey starts here, one breath at a time.
